Orange show auditions announced
AREA — Arena Civic Theatre, of Greenfield, has announced auditions for their April 2016 production of “Spring Awakening,” a rock musical written by Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik, and based on the play by Frank Wedekind. The production will take place the last two weekends in April at the Orange Town Hall.
Audition dates include Sunday, Nov. 29, at 3 p.m., at the Guiding Star Grange, 401 Chapman St, Greenfield; and Monday, Nov. 30, at 6:30 p.m., at the Bangs Community Center, 70 Boltwood Walk, Amherst.
Those interested are asked to familiarize themselves with the show before auditioning, and prepare 32 bars of a song similar to that of Spring Awakening (but not from the show); songs can be musical theater or something else, but those planning to audition are asked not to sing acapella or with a recording. Comfortable clothing is advised, as participants will be asked to learn some choreography.
Call-backs will be by invitation only on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 6:30 p.m.
