2 accidents reported
ORANGE — Two motor vehicle accidents were reported to police on Monday.
At 8:50 a.m., it was reported a minor two-car accident occurred in a parking lot on Red Brook Lane.
According to police, both vehicles sustained minor damage and no injuries resulted. Both vehicles had been backing out of parking spaces and each driver claimed the other was at fault. Scrapes were observed on the rear bumpers. The drivers had already exchanged information and were advised to contact their insurance companies.
No other details were available prior to press time today.
At 4:59 p.m., a vehicle operated by Ruth LaPointe, 74, of Athol; and Roger Farrow, 66, of 8 West St., New Salem, were in an accident on New Athol Road.
According to police, the Farrow vehicle was stopped in traffic and was rear-ended by the LaPointe vehicle. LaPointe and Carol Vega, of Orange and a passenger in the LaPointe vehicle, were transported by the Orange and Athol ambulances to Athol Hospital to be treated for visible injuries.
LaPointe was cited for failure to use care in stopping.
