7:23 a.m. - Summonses served, Exchange Street.

8:34 a.m. - Attempt to serve summons, Shore Drive.

8:46 a.m. - Caller reports several unregistered motor vehicles, Old Keene Road. Spoke with property owner about town bylaw; information taken on vehicles. Officer to follow up in five days.

9:32 a.m. - Walk-in requests assistance with getting money back from her husband. Party’s husband left her Sunday night. Party stated she and her husband have her mother-in-law holding onto $2,500 of their money and she won’t give it to caller unless husband allows it. Party advised matter is not criminal and she would have to go to court. Officer did try calling both parties; no answer.

10:35 a.m. - State’s Department of Children and Families requested assistance while they meet with a child, South Main Street. Stood by while DCF attempted to have party leave location. She did not want to go with DCF and instead was given a ride to her grandmother’s house by her other grandmother. DCF followed them to residence. Orange Police advised.

11 a.m. - Detective checking on suspicious activity, Lyons Hill Road. Report of logging company moving numerous large trees from private property. Officer made contact with subject and owner of company and loggers on site. Party arrived on scene while officer was present and advised permission had not been given to remove trees on his property. Other subject stated he was working for another party and only doing what he was instructed to cut. Advised to stop all cutting on the property. Subject confirmed he understood permission was not granted and he would stop and clean up the right-of-way. Matter to be resolved via civil process if needed.

12:30 p.m. - Caller reports dogs continuously barking, Wallingford Avenue. Animal control officer parked on Unity Avenue behind the home in question. All was quiet but when a person walked by the dogs started to bark and the caller yelled out her window, which escalated the barking. After walker was past the house, the dogs stopped barking. They barked for about a minute. Another person walked by and the dogs barked for less than a minute and then were quiet. Owner of dogs not home.

1:46 p.m. - Caller reports tree service did not have signs posted and caller was almost injured by a tree, South Athol Road. Incident occurred on Friday. Message left with company.

1:50 p.m. - Caller reports barking dogs, Wallingford Avenue. Spoke to caller and advised of bylaw and what ACO had observed earlier. Caller stated ACO should talk to neighbor across the street. Spoke to neighbor who stated dogs bark when people walk by the Exchange Street side of the house and then stop. Neighbor also stated they do not bark consistently for 10 minutes.

3:57 p.m. - Caller requests assistance, Wallingford Avenue. Spoke to child and advised him to listen to his mother and follow house rules.

4:30 p.m. - Caller reports wire across road, Conant and South Athol roads. Time Warner notified. At 5:11, caller reports that about an hour prior a truck ripped a cable line from his house. Time Warner advised of the address and responding. Advised caller of same. Span of telephone wire located in road which was not attached to any poles or houses. Wire wrapped up for disposal.

5:28 p.m. - Caller requests assistance, Cottage Street. Subject stated her ex-boyfriend and 15-year-old son made a mess of apartment and refuse to help clean up the mess. She was advised this was not a police matter and that if she is having issues with her teenaged son not following house rules she should seek assistance from juvenile court.

6:49 p.m. - 911 caller requests to speak to officer about a probation violation, School Street. He stated he did not want to stay home and if he leaves it will be a probation violation. Spoke to caller who agreed to stay home and call officer to talk things over before breaking probation. No further issues.

7:26 p.m. - Caller reports her Oxycodone prescription was stolen, Pierce Street. Spoke to party who stated she has a bottle of medication missing from her purse and her son is the only person who could have taken them. She stated son was the only person in the apartment during the short period of time the medication went missing. Made two phone calls to party who refused to cooperate and was vague in his responses. Party also refused to tell officer where he could be located. Investigation to continue; charges to follow.

9:17 p.m. - Caller reports intoxicated neighbor in woods yelling, Petersham Road. Located subject in his back yard walking his dog. Family disputes who owns wooded area between the homes. No yelling or disturbance upon arrival. Advised party to go inside for the night.

9:35 p.m. - Officer out with motorist parked in breakdown lane with hazard lights on, Petersham Road. Female pulled over to make phone call.

10:26 p.m. - Caller reports suspicious person, Walnut Street. States male party in a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt has been walking back and forth for 10 to 15 minutes. Area checked; no contact.

11:22 p.m. - Caller requested escort to get her phone charger from her ex, Main Street. Charger retrieved without issue.

11:53 p.m. - Caller, who was very intoxicated, needed help getting home as he is lost and can’t find Fish Street; he is at Main and Exchange streets. Transported party to location.


12:04 a.m. - House check, Old Keene Road.

12:47 a.m. - House check, Franklin Street.

1:25 a.m. - Caller reports finding a white substance in a baggie and caller believes it is suspicious, Main Street.

3:57 a.m. - Assisted Orange Police with attempt to contact subject’s family member, School Street. Attempt made to speak to party; no contact.
